Come Friday night, the last thing you want to do is cook. You’ve probably run out of groceries, have no urge to run to the store, and the novelty of the new restaurant around the corner has worn off. Today, give yourself a break and check out The Gathering. From 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the intersection of Keswick and 34th Street, a large array of local food trucks and bands will gather for treats and tunes. For only $15, you can invest in an unlimited drinks wristband. If you’re feeling guilty about forgoing the veggies and splurging on ginger-rum marinated steak tacos at Woody’s Taco Island, you can counter that guilt knowing that a portion of the proceeds will benefit Art With a Heart.
High Zero, Baltimore’s improvisational music festival raps up this weekend. Performances will be all over the city, with a full breakdown at their website. High Zero has gotten high praise over the years from NPR, The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, Wire, and many others. It’s definitely an event to catch! For more information, check out our event posting, and our Music Scene feature from last week.
