This custom-built home overlooking Loch Raven Reservoir is one-of-a-kind and beyond move-in ready – it is phenomenal. The view alone is worth a thousand words, and the interior details are too numerous to mention. But we’ll try.
Let’s start with the location. Goose-Cove Farm is set on 3 secluded acres within the Loch Raven Watershed. From almost every window you can see the water sparkling through the trees and sunsets are best enjoyed from one of the two patios, deck or sunroom. Miles of hiking trails and fishing are only a short walk from the house – the Loch Raven boat center is literally right around the corner, as is Eagle’s Nest Golf Club and Peerce’s Restaurant.
The back yard is a naturalist and birder’s paradise where you can spot everything from hummingbirds to the nesting pair of bald eagles – including geese, the property’s namesake. On any given evening you might see chipmunks, foxes or groundhogs. The deer are kept at bay by a fence surrounding the yard, but you can admire the fawns from a distance in the spring!
“Sitting at the pond with my wife as she gives names to the goldfish, while listening to frogs call their mates, watching as birds take turns bathing in the waterfall as a dragonfly lays her eggs on the underside of a lily pad is just on of the unique experiences at Goose Cove that I will miss.”

As private as this refuge is, it is only 10 minutes north of downtown Towson, and access to the Baltimore Beltway, and 10 minutes south of Jacksonville Elementary School and local shopping.
The gracious home is immaculate and meticulously maintained. It is obvious here that the details matter. In a luxury home like this you expect the hardwood floors, granite countertops, custom cabinetry stainless steel appliances, and expert wood trim. But here, the crown molding is unusually deep, and door and window woodwork unusually wide. Openings between rooms are arched rather then square. The stainless steel range in the large country kitchen is a Viking, with 6 burners, a grill and double ovens. Details include a deep farmhouse sink, open plate racks, and porcelain knobs on the cabinets.
The mudroom/laundry, located off the kitchen has an unexpected vaulted ceiling and view of the water which provides an open and airy feeling that certainly makes doing laundry less of a chore.
Because there are so many common spaces on the main level, this home is perfect for entertaining. Breakfast can be enjoyed in the kitchen or sunroom where you can take in the view. The formal dining room is perfect for hosting holiday dinners, and the living room is also spacious, but you’re going to want to spend a lot of time in the family room.
Spanning most of the back of the house, and filled with light, there is enough space in the family room for two seating areas. Gather around the stone fireplace on chilly spring evenings, or sink into the couch in front of the wood built-in entertainment center for a movie or big game. Or simply sit in either of these spots and take in the spectacular scenes of garden, trees and reservoir from the wall of windows. Then be lured outside, through the French doors to relax on the flagstone patio.
Upstairs is as wide and welcoming as the main level. Double doors lead into the master bedroom with vaulted ceiling and fireplace. French door lead out to a small balcony, and the master bathroom has his and her entrances. Here you will find more of those details. A Jacuzzi tub is nestled in front of a picture window, the sinks, cabinets and countertops are all custom finished, and the glass-walled shower is enormous. A door from the bathroom leads to a dressing room/closet that is larger than many bedrooms!
Two other bedrooms share a bath that has a quarry-tile floor with pretty detail, and down the hall is fourth bedroom with full bath. Being set apart from the other three bedrooms creates a wonderful sense of privacy for guests, in-laws or au pair.
Speaking of guests. Just across the driveway from the house is a renovated stable that includes a three-car garage, workroom, and playroom. And by playroom, we mean for adults and children. The L-shaped room with vaulted ceiling includes space for a pool table, living area with couch and chairs and a custom built bar. Sliding glass doors afford access to a deck that is a perfect place for watching the sunset. A half bath means any party there can be self-contained.
We could go on about the beautiful stone paths, the flowering shrubs, the lovely pond, the charming smokehouse turned storage shed, and the garden shed, but seeing it in person is worth more than a thousand words.
