The opening of a new food hall in West Baltimore, The Mill on North, is cause for a multi-day celebration beginning Thursday, April 24, 2025. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for that morning at 10:30 a.m., marking the start of the Grand Opening Celebration.

The Mill on North, located on West North Avenue, signals a significant step forward in the revitalization of West Baltimore. More than a food hall, it aims to represent community ownership, investment, and opportunity. The space gathers seven local food vendors under one roof, each with longstanding connections to the area. The offerings will include everything from seafood and soul food to brunch favorites, bakery treats, and hand-crafted coffee.

โ€œThis project is not only importantโ€”itโ€™s transformational,โ€ said Dr. Gary Rodwell, president of the Coppin Heights Community Development Corporation. โ€œIt represents what happens when community, government, and local entrepreneurs come together to reimagine a neighborhood.โ€

The Mill on North Food Hall is a collaborative project developed in partnership with Coppin Heights Community Development Corporation and Neighborhood Housing Services. The hope is it will serve as an anchor of opportunity and community, commerce and socializing over shared meals.

The venture has received support from leaders across the board, from political to educational to environmental and more. Gov. Wes Moore, Mayor Brandon Scott, state and federal representatives, local agencies, Coppin State University, nonprofits, grant partners, and funders have all committed to the project, reinforcing the shared value that food, culture, and community are fundamental to economic development and neighborhood pride.
