Rolando McClain, the former Oakland Raider/brand new Baltimore Raven, got arrested the other night. Again. (And for doing something pretty stupid, too.) This makes three arrests in 16 months, which may be making the Ravens leadership a little bit nervous.
With the departure of Ray Lewis, Dannell Ellerbe, and Brendon Ayanbadejo, the Ravens desperately need a linebacker, which is one reason they were willing to risk taking on McClain. During his time with the Raiders, McClain was suspended for two games for “conduct detrimental to the team” and eventually got booted off the starting lineup. In December 2011, McClain held a gun up to another man’s head and fired — in the opposite direction. (The case against McClain was dismissed because the victim decided not to press charges.) In January of this year, he was pulled over for having an illegal tint in his car; according to Deadspin, he “gave the officer a fake name, and signed his citation ‘fuck y’all.’ ”
All these situations took place in McClain’s hometown of Decatur, Alabama. Let’s hope Baltimore is a better influence.
