Saturday will mark the third national No Kings protest, and if registered events are any indication, it may be the single largest day of political protest in United States history.

The No Kings event in October 2025 drew an estimated 7 million people nationwide, with more than 2,700 rallies held in all 50 states in a show of mass repudiation of President Donald Trump’s authoritarian and corrupt policies. At least 17 rallies were planned in Baltimore and the surrounding area, with dozens more in other parts of Maryland. The rally in Columbia drew more than 6,000 people to Symphony Woods to send the message, “No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.”

Since then, Trump and/or those in his administration have: issued presidential pardons to 77 of his allies who were involved in the “fake electors” scheme to subvert the 2020 election, including Rudy Giuliani and Mark Meadows; attempted to obtain voter ballots from the 2020 election via a Department of Justice lawsuit, then simply seized them in a raid; killed two innocent citizens of Minneapolis, Renée Good and Alex Pretti, during political protests against I.C.E. presence in their city; attempt to demand Minnesota voter rolls from Gov. Tim Walz in the wake of those killings; and called to “nationalize” elections.

Also, since then, Trump took a wrecking ball to the White House’s East Wing; accepted the brand new “FIFA Peace Prize”; subsequently launched airstrikes in Venezuela and captured and jailed its president, Nicolás Maduro, and his wife, Cilia Flores; and continued his campaign to turn back the voting rights clock by at least a century with the SAVE Act.

The day of the next No Kings protest, March 28, will mark exactly one month since Trump joined Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in dropping bombs on Iran, effectively bringing the U.S. to war without Congressional consent, which is unconstitutional.

Considering that this list is far from comprehensive, and Trump’s approval ratings are at their lowest level since he re-entered the White House – only 36% of Americans approve of his job performance, according to the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll – predictions that Saturday’s national protests will be the largest so far seem likely to play out.

As of this writing, there are 15 planned rallies taking place on Saturday, March 28 in Baltimore City and the surrounding area listed on the No Kings website. Here’s what we know about some of them.

BALTIMORE CITY

Baltimore City has at least three No Kings events on the map, spread throughout the day to fit anyone’s schedule and preference. There is a No Kings Baltimore City rally from 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at 101 Gay St. There is a No Kings, No Wars rally at Hopkins Plaza from 1–3 p.m. Then after an afternoon break, there will be a Pro-Democracy Dance Party held at Baltimore Penn Station, where people can dance in defiance of authoritarianism and celebrate their freedom to say No Kings in America. There will be DJs playing your favorite music at this event sponsored by Allies for Democracy and the Golden Dance Experiment.

YORK ROAD FREE SPEECH MILES (TOWSON)

This is a peaceful community sign-waving and donation drive event taking place in Towson from 12–1:30 p.m. along York Road. More than 2,000 people are expected for this event organized by Indivisible Baltimore County. It begins at the Gittings Avenue intersection of York Road and will go north towards Cross Campus Drive and the Towson Circle. This spans multiple miles and runs through three ZIP codes (21212, 21204, and 21286), crossing the city-county line.

Along the way, there will be multiple donation drop-off points to collect food and essential household items for local families and students facing food insecurity. Donations will benefit GEDCO Cares Food Pantry, Baltimore County Student Support Network, and individuals in need across Baltimore County and Baltimore City. Most needed items include canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, and peanut butter; shelf-stable milk; hygiene items (soap, toothpaste, deodorant, period products); diapers and wipes.

WE THE PEOPLE RALLY (COLUMBIA)

Organized by Indivisible Howard County, Columbia Democratic Club, Ellicott City & Western Howard County Democratic Club, Howard County MD Young Democrats, and others, this event is a combination rally, march, and sign-waving beginning at 1 p.m. The rally begins at the Chrysalis near Merriweather Post Pavillion, where elected officials and everyday citizens will talk about protecting their rights and democracy. There will also be live music.

After the rally, attendees can either walk directly or march with the crowd, following the flags and drums, around the perimeter of Merriweather to the sign wave at the intersection of Broken Land Parkway and Little Patuxent Parkway. The sign-wave is expected to end around 4 p.m. There will also be post-rally events, a kids’ table, and a food drive to benefit Columbia Community Care.
