In the latest edition of a Baltimore celebrity falling victim to crime, 80s pop star and Johns Hopkins prof Thomas Dolby discovered his bike was stolen from a garage outside his Baltimore apartment building this week.

Dolby, who had a hit with โ€œShe Blinded Me with Science,โ€ discovered the theft after returning to the U.S. from a trip to the U.K. He has little faith in police, but turned to social media to broadcast the news

On Facebook, Dolby said his bike wasnโ€™t even that nice. The bike only cost him $75 on Craigslist. He recently had it fixed up at Joeโ€™s Bike Shop in Fells Point. As a gesture to welcome Dolby to Baltimore, the mechanics didnโ€™t even charge him for the repairs.

โ€œThe heavy chain and padlock were worth nearly as much (as the bike),โ€ Dolby writes. โ€œAnd the guy must know squat about bikes, because there is a slick carbon racer in the same bike rack that has to be worth thousands.โ€

The culprit was also caught on camera. Prepare to be blinded by footage:
