The Baltimore Child Abuse Center will host two free public town hall meetings next week and the week after to provide a forum for community members to ask questions and discuss the implications of the recently reported child sexual abuse incidents at Penn State University. Community members are invited to this open forum to share their thoughts and concerns, as well as learn strategies in order to prevent child sexual abuse in our community.

A panel of experts in the field will be on hand to answer questions and offer crucial insights, including: warning signs of abuse; strategies to prevent abuse; how to educate children on healthy boundaries and touching; how to address the Penn State incident with your children; reporting abuse in Maryland, including legal requirements; and how to develop a safety plan.

Therapists and professionals will be available to recommend treatment options, if necessary.
