Unified Community Connections, a nonprofit agency supporting people with disabilities, will hold its signature concert fundraiser, Hoodstock XVIII, in person with live streaming available on YouTube. Roses n Rust will headline Hoodstock and cover both classic and modern artists from the ‘60s, ‘70s and today. In addition, there will be a performance by The Wafflers, and local celebrity O.J. Brigance, senior advisor for player development for the Baltimore Ravens and former Unified Community Connections board member, will present this year’s Samuel A. Tucker Memorial Can Do Award.
All guests attending Hoodstock XVIII will be required to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or a medically-administered laboratory-based negative test result from a test taken within 72 hours prior to the event along with a matching photo ID. To further keep attendees safe, masks must be worn when not eating and event capacity will be limited to 50%.
“Hoodstock is the laidback concert fundraiser where guests just say no to black-tie and yes to tie-dye,” said Amy Kreitz, president and CEO of Unified Community Connections. “Dig out those bell-bottoms or come as you are to rock out at The Winslow in support of a great cause.”
Hoodstock started in 2004 as a neighborhood event and has since grown into a major fundraiser to benefit Unified Community Connections in supporting people with disabilities. Last year’s virtual event raised $80,000 with more than 1,200 viewers from 12 different states as well as Thailand, Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
Tickets are $40 in advance through Oct. 21 and increase to $50 beginning Oct. 22. Discounts are available for advance purchases for groups of six or more.
