The Baltimore Concert Opera Presents THE CONSUL by Gian Carlo Menotti – 11/22 and 11/24

Baltimore Concert Opera continues its season of tragic heroines with The Consul. An unfortunately timeless piece, The Consul touches on issues of fascism, political resistance, and immigration bureaucracy that are every bit as relevant today as when the Pulitzer Prize winning work premiered in 1950. Soprano Melanie Henley Heyn makes her company debut as Magda Sorel, joined by Ron Loyd as John Sorel. Performances are at the historic Engineers Club at the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion on November 22nd and 24th. Tickets: $29.50 – 73.50 and can be purchased here.

Indie Rep Pop Up Gallery & Boutique Opening Party – 11/1

For the month of November, Indie Rep will have a physical retail location in Pigtown inside of the new independent bookstore, Charm City Books! Come celebrate at their OPENING PARTY on Friday, November 1. Enjoy an entire floor featuring IndieRep artists and artisans and shop original art prints and paintings, natural bath and body care, handcrafted jewelry and more. Hop on the beloved GOGOs vintage fashion bus with Stacey Chambers (starting at 7pm). Jam to two live performances by Acacia Sears and Sondra Boyle of Hex Girlfriends & Sugar Glass. Sparkle with a little help from Hailey Graef of Zerra&Co. with a zero waste makeover. And finish the night with tarot readings by local astrologer and jeweler Michelle Nyguen of Ode To Venus.

The party starts at 7pm and will run until 10pm. Refreshments and cheerful celebration will be served! Support your local artisan community and enjoy a Friday night out.

Pop-Up Art Exhibition Featuring Charlotte Culot at 1405 Point – 10/18 and 10/19

Nature’s Calling – Family Fun Event

Experience the great outdoors at the first annual Nature’s Calling – Family Fun Event to support Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center on Sunday, May 5 from 12 noon to 4 pm.  A curated collection of activities for all ages including fishing in the pond, golf tips, corn hole tournament, tie dying, climbing tower, pony rides, petting zoo, live music and more. Enjoy a walking tour of Genesee Valley, taste local craft beers and wine while your kids play in the Gaga Pit, a Genesee Valley tradition. Food and beverages will be provided by The Food Market of Hampden, BC Brewery and Troyer’s Liquor of Hereford. Experience the Valley like you’ve never done before.
