Internet hoaxers are really mean sometimes, you know?
Over the weekend, Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake tweeted her thanks to Usher, who reportedly gave a radio interview in which he said that Baltimore had the most beautiful women in the world: “I’m not saying that the women there are necessarily more physically beautiful than other women in other places but, from my experience in Baltimore, the women there have the entire package, ya know? They’re not only beautiful on the outside but on the inside as well.”

Well… I hate to break it to you, but Usher didn’t actually say that. Nor did he say that Beaumont, Texas has the most beautiful women, or Grand Rapids, Michigan. This is one of those hoaxes that goes around the internet, fueled by local pride (and perhaps a touch of vanity?). Usually, though, the mayor doesn’t get fooled.
