Erika Brannock, the 29-year-old Towson resident and pre-school teacher who was seriously injured in the bombing at the Boston Marathon on April 15, will receive on Thursday a $10,000 check, thanks to Valley Motors Subaru of Hunt Valley and Subaru of America, Inc. The two pledged $100 of support to the Erika Brannock Fund for each Subaru sold in the months of May and June. Brannock lost a portion of her left leg and suffered severe damage to her right leg in the explosion.
The dealership also set up a donation area in the showroom, along with a website to allow members of the community to join Valley Motors in showing support. Donations can be made online directly at www.subaruofhuntvalley.com/
โErika has been a very meaningful member of our community, one that Valley Motors has been a part of for more than 50 years,โ said Charles Fenwick, president of Valley Motors Auto Group. โWe felt that it was important to develop a way to give back to the community and show our support for Erika, her family and her students while she is on a road to recovery.โ
โWe are truly touched by the outpouring of support shown by our community,โ said Scott Massengill of the Erika Brannock Fund. โFor local businesses like Subaru of Hunt Valley to offer to helpโฆit just goes to show the bond our community has and just how much of an impression Erika has made here.โ
