On September 10, Virgin Mobile Fest returns to Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia. The diverse lineup will include Cee Lo Green (half of alt. hip hop duo Gnarls Barkley), perpetually youthful punk icon Patti Smith, art-rock outfit TV on the Radio, and two-piece blues-rockers The Black Keys, among others.
Itโs a surprisingly tasteful line-up for a huge, corporate music festival. So if youโve got high tolerance for large crowds and overpriced bottled water, consider attending.
Just like the 2009 and 2010 concerts, this yearโs festival is free of charge, though concertgoers will be encouraged to donate money to Virgin Mobileโs homeless youth charity, The RE*Generation.
But youโll still need to order tickets, and you will only be able to do so via Virgin Mobile Liveโs facebook page facebook.com/virginmobilelive. Tickets become available July 15 at 10 a.m.
