The Baltimore area’s latest sinkhole opened up in Baltimore County on Wednesday.
According to WBAL-TV water main break caused the road to collapse on East Joppa Road in Baltimore County on Wednesday morning in the Perry Hall area. The 12-in. water main break meant heavy equipment shut down the road between Belair Road and Seven Courts Dr. all day Wednesday. It wasn’t reopened until Thursday.
Water was out for about 20 customers, including a Weis market.
A lot has been made of sinkholes in the Mt. Vernon area in the city, but infrastructure in the County has now given way to four ruptured roadways this year. Fortunately, no cars were swallowed in this event.
