WYPR 88.1 FM announced today the launch of a new local program, Future City, hosted by best-selling author and Baltimore native Wes Moore. The show will make its debut September 21.

Future City will explore best practices in other American cities and examine how to bring those concepts back to Baltimore.

Future City will air once-a-month beginning on Wednesday, September 21 at 1:00 p.m. The show will air again at 9:00 p.m. on the same day. Each episode will run 60 minutes in length and will feature input from experts in the featured city, as well as experts in Baltimore.

There is not a set schedule for when the show will air each month, according to a station representative. The station will update its website and will run promos each month once each date has been set.

Moore is the author of The Other Wes Moore and The Work. Both were New York Times bestsellers.

The program is funded by Genine and Josh Fidler and supported by the Baltimore Community Foundation. Moore has been a member of the BCF board of trustees since 2012.
