Believe it or not, that federal air marshal who was using his cell phone to take upskirt pictures of female passengers isn’t even the sleaziest dude of the week. That award goes to Dr. John Yacoub, a veteran OB/GYN with an office at GBMC, who is in trouble for: 1) cocaine abuse; 2) prescription drug abuse; 3) taking disturbing cell phone pictures of his patients; and 4) sending controlled substances to a patient he was also having sex with. Yike!
According to WJZ, one of Yacoub’s staff members reported him for having “large quantities of controlled dangerous substances.” According to the medical board report, Yacoub snorted cocaine off his dining room table before heading into the hospital to assist with a gynecological surgery procedure. (Ironically, Yacoub also ran a drug detox program from his office at GBMC.) Investigators also found images of female genitalia on his cell phone, often with a gloved hand and medical equipment also present in the image. At this point, Yacoub’s medical license has been suspended; the DEA is investigating him as well.
A Johns Hopkins gynecologist was charged with similar violations of patient privacy earlier this year; he later killed himself.
