We’ve got a soft spot for those years when July 4th actually lands on a weekend, so that the fireworks can all actually happen on Independence Day. Here in Baltimore, we’re nestled between two of the biggest displays in the country– Washington D.C. and Philadelphia. Sure, you can head up or down I-95 to catch either of those, but the view at the Inner Harbor is really not to be missed. Here’s the scoop on fireworks displays near and far.

Of course, most of us will be watching the biggest display in the state– that is, the display at the Inner Harbor. The celebration starts at 7, with fireworks beginning at 9:30.  You can view the fireworks from several different neighborhoods, so make your dinner plans with a great view in mind.

On the smaller side, Baltimore County has a few local fireworks displays this evening, including the Star Spangled Spectacular at Oregon Ridge Park.  The BSO will be playing at 8pm, with fireworks as well.

In Annapolis, they’ll be launching fireworks from a barge in Annapolis Harbor. There’s also a parade beginning at 6:30pm to kick things off, along with the US Naval Academy Band.

Howard County will have a particularly family-oriented affair this evening, with a stage specifically for children’s entertainment starting at 5pm.

And Carroll County will be hosting an old fashioned July 4th celebration, with a picnic starting at 1pm, entertainment, crafts, food, and more throughout the day in Westminster. Fireworks begin at 9:30.

For the biggest bash of them all, you can head down to the National Mall in D.C. for the grand Fourth of July Celebration. It’s known as one of the greatest fireworks displays in the world, so if you’re up for braving the crowds, it may well be worth the adventure getting there.
