Look out, Duff Goldman — there’s another potential baking star in town:  Baltimore’s own Rodney Henry, the pie-master at the helm of Dangerously Delicious Pies, will compete in the upcoming season of Food Network Star, with hopes of winning his own cooking show on the Food Network.

The show, which will air this summer, features a panel of celebrity chefs as judges (Bobby Flay, Alton Brown, and Giada De Laurentils). At the same time as he makes a bid for pie-stardom, Henry is also taking a shot at becoming better known as a musician:  he’s recorded an EP with the White Stripes’s producer, and recently told the Baltimore Sun “I’ve always wanted to be an entertainer. Whatever I have to do. I’m like a Pie Johnny Cash.”

Tune into the first episode on June 2 at 9 p.m. to see how Henry fares.

  1. Dangerously Delicious was our (very good) neighbor in Canton for a while. I wish Rodney the best!
