Rails Girls is a roving two-day coding workshop aimed at getting more women involved in computer programming (a field you may or may not be surprised to learn has a serious gender imbalance). And it must really be striking a chord; its Baltimore event on March 1 and 2 has already sold all of its 75 tickets.
At Rails Girls, women of all ages will learn their way around the open source web application framework Ruby on Rails. I won’t attempt to explain it in more detail, because I don’t know what even that means, really.
