The United States’ men’s soccer team will face off against Belgium on Monday night at Seattle’s Lumen Field during a Round 16 matchup of the Fifa Men’s World Cup — and Baltimore-area bars and restaurants are getting in on the fun.

The game comes on the heels of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee’s reversal of U.S. player Folarin Balogun’s one-game suspension from the red card he received during the team’s game against Bosnia and Herzegovina where Balogun stepped on the ankle of defender Tarik Muharemović. The reversal will allow Balogun to participate in the U.S.’s game against Belgium.

This is the first time since 1994 that the United States, in partnership with Mexico and Canada, is hosting the Fifa Men’s World Cup.

Although Baltimore is not one of the 11 U.S. cities selected to host World Cup games this summer, local fans have still been enjoying the international soccer competition with watch parties across the Baltimore region.

The festivities will continue with U.S.-Belgium game watch parties on Monday throughout the Baltimore area.
