Baltimore, this is the best restaurant news I’ve heard in a long while. The biker- and blues-oriented barbecue chain Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is finally venturing south of New Jersey. And Fells Point is going to be its first location!
When you think of great American barbecue, you probably don’t think of Upstate New York, but you should! The original Dinosaur location in Syracuse was crowned America’s best barbecue by Good Morning America in 2009. And as crazy as that may sound, it is not undeserved. In fact, it was a long time coming. I can tell you from experience that their ribs, pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, salmon fritters, and fried green tomatoes are all show stoppers.
According to the Baltimore Business Journal, the 8,295 square-foot space at 1401 Fleet Street will seat 251 (including 19 at the bar). The restaurateurs will meet with the liquor board on Sept. 4.
