You’re invited to a special screening of the movie EMBRACE on Monday, February 27th at 7:30pm in Harbor East. When Body Image Activist Taryn Brumfitt posted an unconventional before-and-after photo in 2013 it was seen by more than 100 million people worldwide and sparked an international media frenzy. EMBRACE follows Taryn’s crusade as she explores the global issue of body loathing, inspiring us to change the way we feel about ourselves and think about our bodies.

We have a limited number of seats to fill to guarantee the showing of this film, proceeds of which go to Araminta Freedom Initiative, a non-profit with a local branch that works to stop child sex-trafficking. 91% of women hate their bodies? Sounds like some kind of mass hysteria and misplaced priorities to me. Probably exacerbated by Oprah Winfrey who makes big bucks by stoking womens’ insecureities’ about their weight and selling them diet books and Weight Watchers.
