From a Broadway musical about Mormon missionaries to a Shrek-themed rave, there’s lots to see and do in Baltimore this weekend.

Emerge Exhibition, Thursday, March 21, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower. Local rising artists Xavier Hardison, BlissArmyKnife, and Jennifer McBrien will showcase their work in solo shows, with a public opening reception Thursday. The exhibition will run through May 27.

Postmodern Jukebox, Thursday, March 21, doors open 7 p.m., event starts 8 p.m., The Lyric. Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox transforms modern pop songs and other iconic hits through the lens of different musical styles. Think “Levitating” if Dua Lipa was transported back to the 1920s, or Olivia Rodrigo’s “Driver’s License” in a 1950s style.

Mahler Symphony No. 6, Thursday, March 21, and Saturday, March 23, Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra will perform Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 6, conducted by Music Director Jonathon Heyward.

The Book of Mormon, Thursday, March 21, through Sunday, March 24, Hippodrome Theatre. This musical comedy follows two Mormon missionaries on their trip to Uganda. Written by the creators of “South Park” and one-half of “Avenue Q,” this musical premiered on Broadway in 2011 and won nine Tony awards that year.

Shrek Rave, Friday, March 22, 9 p.m., Baltimore Soundstage. Get your game on and go play at this Shrek-themed rave.

Breakfast with the Chimps, Saturday, March 23, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Maryland Zoo. Before the zoo opens for the day, visit the Chimpanzee Forest for a buffet-style breakfast, learn from a chimpanzee keeper, and watch keepers give the chimps an enrichment treat.

Cody Johnson, Saturday, March 23, doors open 6:30 p.m., event begins 7:30 p.m., CFG Bank Arena. Country singer and former bull rider Cody Johnson will be ridin’ on into Baltimore this weekend for a show at CFG Bank Arena. The Texas singer released his ninth studio album, “Leather,” in November 2023.

Can I Kick It?, Saturday, March 23, 8 p.m., Creative Alliance, The Theater. Watch the 1987 American dystopian action film “The Running Man,” starrring Arnold Schwarzenegger, María Conchita Alonso, Richard Dawson, Yaphet Kotto, and Jesse Ventura.

Joyce J. Scott, Sunday, March 24, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Baltimore Museum of Art. Visit artist Joyce J. Scott’s new “Walk a Mile in My Dreams” exhibition for free on the BMA’s Community Day. In addition to viewing the exhibition itself, attendees will be able to enjoy a performance by Scott; African drumming; an interactive performance art experience by WombWork Productions, Inc.; dimensional jewelry and sculpture making; and food by H3irloom Food Group.

Logan Visionary Conference, Sunday, March 24, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., American Visionary Art Museum. AVAM’s free conference this year will focus on “Habitats & Havens: Stewardship of our Sanctuaries.” Peabody Award winner Marc Steiner,will emcee the event. Speakers will include artist Loring Cornish; Black Women Build founder Shelley Halstead; Annalise Flynn, who manages SPACES at the Kohler Foundation; and Evan Woodard, who leads Salvage Arc.
