Baltimoreans know their city holds plenty of romantic appeal to balance out its grit, but now we have relative proof, thanks to a new list from dining reservation service OpenTable.
The company released its rankings of America’s 25 most romantic cities yesterday. At no. 10 sits Baltimore City.
OpenTable said its ranking factored in three variables: the share of restaurants that OpenTable users rated as “romantic” in their reviews, the percentage of two-person tables available for reservations and the proportion of users who made reservations with the service on Valentine’s Day in 2016.
Based on those calculations, Baltimore beat out Charlotte, Louisville, Ky., Portland, Ore., Miami Beach and almost a dozen others in the top 25. The top five comprised Oklahoma City, St. Louis, Savannah, Ga., Memphis, and Brooklyn.
OpenTable also recently ranked the 100 most romantic restaurants in the country. Somehow, Baltimore’s finest establishments didn’t make the cut, though the company did include the Annapolis location for The Chop House.
