Port Discovery Children’s Museum and Enoch Pratt Free Library are teaming up once again to encourage reading, play, and discovery during the summer months with the fourth annual Ticket to Discovery Book Club.
The program encourages children to read or listen to five books this summer, then enjoy a day at Port Discovery Children’s Museum. During the month of May, Baltimore-area children in fifth grade or younger with a Pratt Library card can visit any Enoch Pratt Free Library branch. There, they can pick up a special Ticket to Discovery bookmark while supplies last. Once they complete the reading challenge, they can use the code on the bookmark to reserve up to four free tickets to Port Discovery Children’s Museum, which will be valid through August 31, 2025.
“We’re excited to partner with Enoch Pratt Free Library to help children build a foundation for lifelong learning and creativity through reading and play,” said Rachel Demma, Vice President of Learning & Community Impact at Port Discovery.
Enoch Pratt Free Library and Port Discovery have curated a suggested book list for children of all ages, including those who are not yet reading on their own. Readers are not, of course, limited to the books on the list, which is broken down into three categories: “Read to Me,” “Read Together,” and “Read on my Own.” To see the list, click here.

Bookmarks are only available during the month of May, and while supplies last. Only one bookmark per child is permitted.
Throughout the summer, Port Discover is hosting other special family events for children, including:
- Play It Safe in June: A hands-on event focused on community safety.
- National Ice Cream Day Celebration in July: A day of ice cream-themed activities and games.
- Set Sail for School in August: Fun, educational activities to help kids prepare for the school year.
Participants in the Ticket to Discovery program can use their bookmarks to attend these events or visit the Museum any day during the summer.
