Tickets are now on sale for the Tony Award-winning comedy “Death Becomes Her” for its engagement at Baltimore’s Hippodrome Theater from Feb. 2–7, 2027.
Lowe Cunningham is producer of “Death Becomes Her” both on Broadway and for the U.S. National Tour. She is senior vice president and head of Creative & Strategy at Universal Theatrical Group. Cunningham also happens to be a Towson University alum, where she studied theater and opera.
“It has been such a joy bringing DEATH BECOMES HER to life on stage and I’m beyond thrilled to be embraced as we have by Broadway audiences,” Cunningham said. “On behalf of the entire creative team and company, we are so proud that we will be able to share this musical and entertain audiences with laughter across the country for years to come with this tour.”
The plot involves a love triangle between an actress, her frenemy, and her frenemy’s fiancé.
Madeline Ashton is the most beautiful actress (just ask her) ever to grace the stage and screen. Helen Sharp is the long-suffering author (just ask her) who lives in her shadow. They have always been the best of frenemies… until Madeline steals Helen’s fiancé away. As Helen plots revenge and Madeline clings to her rapidly fading star, their world is suddenly turned upside down by Viola Van Horn, a mysterious woman with a secret that’s to die for. The National Tour’s company includes Jackie Burns as Madeline Ashton, Kristen Beth Williams as Helen Sharp, Ken Marino as Ernest Menville, Nasia Thomas as Viola Van Horn, Louis A. Williams Jr. as Chagall, Michael Buchanan as Stefan, and Gail Bennett as Standby for Ashton and Sharp.
Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli directs and choreographs, book is by Marco Pennette, and the original score is by Julia Mattison and Noel Carey.
“Death Becomes Her” is based on the Universal Pictures 1992 film, written by David Koepp and Martin Donovan, directed by Robert Zemeckis. It starred Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, and Bruce Willis.
