With Port Covington almost fully shielded and a hotel coming in Fells Point, Kevin Plankโ€™s next frontier is downtown. The Under Armour owner is planting the flag with a new gym at 10 Light St.

A three-floor Performance Center is slated to open later this year. The Baltimore Business Journal reports it will include a turf field in addition to machines and space for group classes. A salon, spa and cafe are also likely moving in.

The effort is a partnership between Under Armour and Hunt Valley-based FX Studios, which, according to the Baltimore Sun, is owned by Plankโ€™s personal trainer. FX Studios currently runs a similar gym at Under Armourโ€™s headquarters in Tide Point.

The tower at 10 Light St., known as the Bank of America building, is one of Baltimoreโ€™s prime addresses. The gym gives Under Armour a presence among the cityโ€™s business center like never before.
