Activists Put Freddie Gray’s Name on Hollywood Walk of Fame

A group of activists recently uploaded video to social media that showed members anonymously affixing the names of black victims of police violence to blank stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Freddie Gray, who was fatally injured in police custody in 2015, is among the names that activist group Indecline added surreptitiously to the tourist attraction.

According to reporting from the Washington Post, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce stated that “[t]he stars were cleaned up as soon as the vandalism was discovered.” But for the vandals, the act itself was the crucial statement, an act set to heavy music and a Malcom X speech in a video called “BlackLivesMatter : Hollywood.”

  1. Do any of these people realize they are granting sainthood to an actual criminal? The guy was a drug addict and a drug dealer and made a living pretending to be in accidents so he could get money from innocent people’s insurance companies. Sorry that he died but I’ll bet if they were one of his many victims they wouldn’t think he was such a great guy. How about putting someone who died defending our country’s name on a Hollywood star?
