Alko Outlet closing

A business that has served Baltimoreโ€™s medical professional community for 50 years is closing and over one million pieces of its inventory will be auctioned off.

Alko Distributors, Scrub Pro Uniforms, and Gallo Clothing are closing their doors after five decades of serving Baltimore and the mid-Atlantic region. They outfitted local nurses, medical professionals, and commercial kitchen staff at outlet pricing. Now, their final stores in Maryland and Virginia will close, and their remaining inventory and office and warehouse equipment will be liquidated.

CapitalOnlineAuctions.com will manage the auction of more than one million items, including medical scrubs, other professional clothing, industrial embroidery machines, shipping containers, and more.

At its height, Alko Distributors supplied 25 retail stores with Scrub Pro Uniforms, Gallo Clothing and Alko Clothing Outlets throughout the mid-Atlantic. They employed hundreds of people in those communities. Now their website is defunct and only an outdated Facebook page remains.

โ€œAlko Distributors has had a huge following and will be missed by so many because of their great prices and customer service,โ€ said Mitch Rotker, owner of Maryland-based CapitalOnlineAuctions.com. โ€œThrough this auction, weโ€™re giving businesses the opportunity to acquire bulk lots of scrubs, lab coats, chefโ€™s clothing and more at even greater discount. Weโ€™re also hoping some of the office and warehouse equipment can go back into the communities Alko Distributors served, thereby providing local businesses with access to high-end equipment at lower cost.โ€

The auction will also include chef ware, uniforms in all sizes sold in bulk lots, non-slip shoe lots, printers and copy machines, rolling ladders, and more. Capital Online Auctions opened bidding on Monday, July 14.
