Angeli’s Pizzeria plans to open its first restaurant outside of Baltimore, and its sixth location overall.

The Baltimore pizza chain will open its next restaurant in Ellicott City in the space formerly occupied by River Hill Pizza, according to documents from the Howard County liquor board.

In 2025, The Washington Post named Angeli’s Pizzeria as the best restaurant for New York-style pizza in Maryland. That same year, 50 Top Pizza named the chain one of the 50 top pizzas in the United States, the only Maryland eatery to make the list.

The new 1,500-square-foot restaurant will be located at 10039 Baltimore National Pike in the Forest Green Shopping Center.

The liquor board on Thursday approved a Class B Beer, Wine and Liquor, 7-Day on-sale License for the business, which will be co-owned and co-managed by brothers Cuneyt “Juniet” Ozturk and Mert Ozturk.

The new location plans to have 30 to 40 seats, and operate from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Cuneyt told the liquor board. He expects the restaurant to open in the next two months.

In addition to pizzas, the restaurant will serve other Italian foods like pasta and calzones.
