A partnership between Johns Hopkins University and the city of Baltimore will provide free gun locks and safes to residents at five library locations as part of Mayor Brandon Scottโs Comprehensive Violence Prevention Plan.
The locks are provided to anyone who is over the age of 18 and are funded through a federal grant worth nearly $250,000.
The branches handing out locks and safes include:
- Southeast Anchor (3601 Eastern Ave.)
- Central (400 Cathedral St.)
- Cherry Hill (606 Cherry Hill Road)
- Hamilton (5910 Harford Road)
- Walbrook (3203 W. North Ave.)

I called the Balto. County Public Library. No gun safes in any BCPL, some locks. Called Enoch Pratt Library Baltimore City. No safes, or locks. All hype!
