The Baltimore County Council has one power when it comes to the annual budget: cutting it.
The council decided not to use that authority on Thursday when it passed County Executive Kathy Klausmeier’s $5 billion budget without making any cuts.
“This is a credit not only to the Executive Branch’s budgeting and spending priorities, but also to the Auditor’s analyses of agency budgets and each councilmember’s vetting of those agency budgets,” said Mike Ertel, the county council chairman.
