Baltimore Fishbowl Weekend

Get Up & Go!

Ah, mid-September. Usually fall takes its time creeping into Baltimore, but not this year. School’s newly back in session, but already there’s some cool in the air. Though it’s still too early to dive into a pile of leaves, you can definitely dive into fall. Our picks for this weekend:

Head out to Larrliand Farms and spend the day picking Jona Gold apples, kale, raspberries, and tomatoes. While you’re there, be sure to get the scoop on October’s hayride offerings!

For a more mature day trip, you can head out to the Maryland Wine Festival in Westminster. Happening both days this weekend, the wine festival promises live music, food from fabulous restaurants, and of course locally crafted Maryland Wines.

Prefer to stay in-town? You can still get your festival quota in with HampdenFest. The festival that put toilet bowl races on the map stretches into the evening, so as the sun goes down, you can check out the brand new Le Garage, a beer and frites (that is, French fry) shop located on The Avenue. We doubt the frites are as healthy as the kale you could’ve been picking at Larriland, but we suspect that they’re at least as satisfying.

And for those thinking of revamping their wardrobes for the season, be sure to check out the Village of Cross Keys’ Fall Fashion Show— with looks on the runway from Ruth Shaw, Jean Pool, The Pied Piper, and more!
