We’ve never been good at taking a compliment. It drives people crazy, so this time we’re just going smile and say a heartfelt thanks. We’re glad you’re reading and hope you’ll continue. It has been a fun year bringing Baltimore Fishbowl to life and learning about the digital world. Generating a daily blog takes hard work, but because people read our efforts, the investment’s gratifying.
We broke some rules of hyper-local journalism this year — eschewing hard news we find dry and a little too “eat your veggies” to match our voice — opting instead for a healthy dose of creative nonfiction, addictive real estate porn (the nickname says so much), humor (at least, we think we’re funny…sometimes), animal news, and profiles of local superstars who ought to be way more famous. In this first phase, we threw a lot at the wall to see what would stick, and to our surprise, some of what the content experts said would not work did. Some of what we didn’t expect to float sailed farthest. And we’ve enjoyed hearing from you along the way.
So keep letting us know what you think in the comments section below and elsewhere, and thanks so much for reading!
