Did you know that we have Baltimore to thank for both bottle caps and the Ouija board?
I sure didn’t, until I read this amazing Buzzfeed list that lists a whole bunch of things that you probably didn’t know were invented in Baltimore. Okay, two more: telephone poles (the first experimental telephone line ran between Baltimore and DC) and shopping centers (the first one was in Roland Park–and is still in use today). Not bad, right?
Usually Buzzfeed lists don’t provide substance beyond adorable/amusing cat photos, but this list by Bruce Goldfarb (the man behind Welcome to Baltimore, Hon) is certainly an exception. Check it out–you will most likely learn something.
