For nearly two decades, the Baltimore Tree Trust has been on a mission to restore Baltimore’s urban forest.
The nonprofit has an overarching goal of planting 2,000 trees annually, helping to grow the city’s tree canopy to 40% and help mitigate the effects of climate change.
The Tree Trust is breaking up its big-picture goal into smaller pieces by applying for grants that provide funding for specific projects, like its latest plan to create 900 new plantable sites across the city.
