Sometimes Baltimore and D.C. remind me of a pair of siblings — they’re so close (and yet so different) that they can’t help getting into tiffs.
This week, the Baltimore Sun released an article trumpeting 100 ways that our city is better than theirs. They include everything from the true (our real estate is actually affordable, our bands are better, we don’t have those terrible traffic circles) to the slightly depressing (our rats can beat up their rats) to the petty (DC is the 21st most-expensive city in the country for weddings; Baltimore is number 22).
This is not the first time that the inter-city rivalry has flared up. But usually, D.C. makes the first punch. I think that’s usually a better strategy — Baltimore seems to fight best from a defensive position, you know?
