The Amazing Acro-Cats, Thursday, July 9 through Sunday, July 26, The Theater at Creative Alliance. As featured on Netflix, this troupe of trained house cats, all former orphans, rescues, and strays, give a one-of-a-kind, 90 minute purrformance that includes cats riding skateboards, jumping through hoops, and performing other feats of agility and acrobatics. Flicks From the Hill: The Wiz, Thursday, July 9, pre-film activities begin at 5 p.m., movie starts at 8:45 p.m., American Visionary Art Museum. Bring blankets, lawn chairs, and your favorite snacks, and enjoy a free outdoor movie on the big screen. Popcorn and sodas will be available for purchase, and food trucks are to be announced.
Profs & Pints Metro Baltimore: Terrors of Irish Fairylore, Thursday, July 9, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Guinness Open Gate Brewery & Barrel House. Join Brittany Warman, former instructor at Ohio State University, co-founder of The Carterhaugh School of Folklore and the Fantastic, and co-author of the new book “Fairylore: A Compendium of the Fae Folk,” for an introduction to Ireland’s strange and unsettling folkloric “Good People.”
Baltimore Caribbean Festival, Friday, July 10 through Sunday, July 12, Druid Hill Park. Officially known as the Baltimore Washington One Carnival, this free, family-friendly event will feature a Caribbean-style parade, live music, and traditional Caribbean food. Candlelight: Tribute to The Beatles, Friday, July 10, 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., Baltimore Museum of Art. In this classical tribute, Listeso String Quartet will perform Beatles favorites under the gentle glow of candlelight.
Armor For Sleep, Friday, July 10, doors 6:30 p.m., show 7:30 p.m., Baltimore Soundstage. Armor For Sleep will make a stop in Baltimore with special guests Spanish Love Songs and Flycatcher.
The Second Saturday S#!T Show feat. RJ Jackson, Saturday, July 11, doors and happy hour at 7 p.m., show at 8 p.m., Ottobar. Join host Mike Quindlen as he welcomes comedians RJ Jackson, Jamar Taylor, Karan Singh, Davine Ker, and Chris Lawrence to the stage.
Brilliant Beginnings: Mozart and Beethoven, Saturday, July 11, 7:30 p.m., Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Finnish pianist Juho Pohjonen and the BSO will perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 12 with the First Symphonies of Mozart and Beethoven.
