This weekend in Baltimore, put your spice tolerance to the test at the inaugural Charm City Heat Festival, hunt for Easter eggs at the Maryland Zoo, and more.

Birdhouse Decorating, Thursday, March 28, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., American Visionary Art Museum. Decorate a birdhouse for your feathered friends to enjoy outside this spring. And check out other Spring Break events around the area in this Baltimore Fishbowl article.

Orioles Opening Day, Thursday, March 28, first pitch scheduled for 3:05 p.m., The Baltimore Orioles will take on the Los Angeles Angels during their Opening Day game.

Battle Ballads, Thursday, March 28, doors open 6 p.m., show starts 6:30 p.m., Baltimore Soundstage. The Battle Ballads North American Tour makes its way to Baltimore, featuring performances by TYR, Trollfest, Aether Realm, and The Dread Crew Of Oddwood.

Baltimore Speaker Series, Thursday, March 28, 8 p.m., Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The Baltimore Speaker Series continues, featuring presidential historian and author of “Presidents of War” Michael Beschloss.

Trans Day of Visibility Kiki Ball, Friday, March 29, 5 p.m., Culture Art Center, 401 N. Howard St. International Transgender Day of Visibility is held each year on March 31 to celebrate transgender people while also raising awareness for transphobic discrimination. Baltimore Safe Haven has organized a Kiki Ball to commemorate the holiday (the ball will be on March 29), featuring a variety of categories that individuals and houses will be walking in. Fantasy Games Bike Party, Friday, March 29, 7 p.m., St. Mary’s Park, 631 N. Paca St. Dress up as your favorite fantasy character for a bike ride around Baltimore. There will be an after-party at Current Space.

Bunny Bonanzoo, Friday, March 29, through Sunday, March 31, Maryland Zoo. Bring the little ones to hunt for eggs; take photos with the Easter Bunny and Zoo mascots Sphen the penguin and Pretzels the bear; get a free Mary Sue chocoalte egg; make crafts; and play carnival games.

Excision: Nexus Tour, Friday, March 29, and Saturday, March 30, 7:45 p.m., CFG Bank Arena. Canadian DJ and electronic music producer Excision will perform in Baltimore on his Nexus Tour. In addition to Excision, the lineup for Friday includes ATLiens, Ray Volpe, Layz, and Hairitage b2b Drinkurwater. Then on Saturday, Excision will be joined by Wooli, Dion Timmer b2b Kompany, Yookie, and Emorfik.

Charm City Heat Festival, Saturday, March 30, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., 400 E. Biddle St. We hope your tastebuds can handle the heat, because the inaugural Charm City Heat Festival takes place this Saturday. This free-to-attend event will include a hot sauce and hot condiment competition; spice, hot sauce, and spicy food vendors; spicy beer, mead, and whiskey; a crush station; live music; and more.

George Colligan’s Homecoming, Saturday, March 30, 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., An Die Musik. Jazz pianist George Colligan will be joined by Gary Thomas on saxophone, Eric Kennedy on drums, and Blake Meister on bass.
