This weekend, Baltimore is offering opportunities to create and appreciate art, mingle with friends at the zoo, and skate at a waterfront park.

Inviting Light, Friday, Feb. 7, doors open at 5:30 p.m., program begins at 6 p.m., SNF Parkway Theatre. Preview Baltimore’s “Inviting Light” public art project, including five light-filled art installations. Read more in this Baltimore Fishbowl article.

Baltimore Record Bazaar Vinyl Nite, Friday, Feb. 7, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Peabody Heights Brewery. DJ Mikie Love and friends will be spinning and selling vinyl in the taproom at this free, family-friendly event.

Hans Zimmer Live, Friday, Feb. 7, doors open at 7 p.m., event begins at 8 p.m., CFG Bank Arena. Film composer Hans Zimmer, the mind behind the music of some of your favorite films like “Inception” and “Pirates of the Caribbean,” will perform selections from the movie soundtracks.

Cards for Care, Saturday, Feb. 8, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., The Walters Art Museum. Drop in and make some cards for a friend, family members, or neighbor in need. The event is free and no registration is required.

Nacho Mama’s Auction, Saturday, Feb. 8, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Nacho Mama’s Towson. Bid on memorabilia related to the Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore Ravens, former Baltimore Colts, Elvis Presley, and National Bohemian beer. Editor’s note: This event has been postponed. Astro Adventure, Saturday, Feb. 8, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Maryland Science Center. Participate in some celestial activities, from astronaut training to collecting space samples.

Wei Zhu and Hui-Chuan Chen, Saturday, Feb. 8, 3 p.m., Baltimore Museum of Art. Get to know the artistry of violinist Wei Zhu, winner of the 2024 Yale Gordon Competition and one of Peabody Conservatory’s top talents. Concert pianist, chamber musician, and educator Hui-Chuan Chen will accompany on piano.

The Second Saturday S#!T Show feat. Violet Gray, Saturday, Feb. 8, doors 7 p.m., show 8 p.m., Ottobar. Join host Mike Quindlen for a night of hilarity and passion as he welcomes headliner Violet Gray; featured comedians Quadir Yussuf, Kaelin Clements, Kreg Paul, Nathan  Scahill; and special guest Chris Wolf to the stage.

Galentine’s Day Flamingle, Sunday, Feb. 9, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Maryland Zoo. Get a group of friends together for an afternoon at the Maryland Zoo during the Galentine’s Flamingle Drag Brunch. The event includes an open bar, brunch buffet, and drag queen performances inspired by pop princesses. Attendees will also be visited by the Zoo’s animal ambassadors.
