The American Visionary Art Museum’s annual Kinetic Sculpture Race is one of Baltimore’s most gleefully deranged events. And probably not the place you would expect to be proposed to. But how else is a guy going to involve a 15-foot pink poodle?
Proposee Erin Alexander’s interview with Good Morning America is priceless: “I knew the poodle was coming because it races every year,” she said. I love Baltimore. No, it wasn’t the giant, human-powered poodle sculpture that was out of the ordinary; it was the fact that it got stuck and handed a ring to sweetheart Bob Keefer, who knelt in the mud in a tuxedo shirt to ask whether he and she might spend the rest of their lives together.
