Ben Carson has made a name for himself by putting his foot in his mouth, most notably when it comes to comments he’s made about the LGBTQ community. But in a recent interview, Carson made vague noises about legal protections for transgender people and claimed to love “all gay people.”
That said, Carson also made it clear that he thinks that marriage should be between one man and one woman, and he’s not sure if he’d (hypothetically) attend his son’s wedding to another man. Yet, he told Buzzfeed, he “has absolutely no animosity or opposition to gay people.” And he hopes to find “a level of tolerance” from the gay community for his beliefs.
