The Towson location of Bill Batemanโ€™s Bistroโ€“the local sports bar chain known for its wings and pub grubโ€“will close after dinner service on Sunday, the restaurant announced last night.

Opened 23 years ago, the restaurant is situated in a building owned by Towson University. Co-owner Tony Gebbia told the Baltimore Business Journal the location was not viable due to increased competition and the โ€œcurrent business environment.โ€

Bill Batemanโ€™s has seven other locations in Maryland and southern Pennsylvania, two of which are carryout concepts called Bill Batemanโ€™s Express. The first restaurant opened in 1987 on Harford Road in Parkville.
