A new form of entertainment is coming to Pimlico Race Course this summer, and it doesn’t have anything to do with horse racing.

It’s called the Blacklight Slide, and it involves getting “glowed” after going down a slide filled with “glow in the dark” water.

“Blacklight Slide is an incredible experience unlike any other,” the promoters say on their website. “This night event, focused on UV Neon Glowing fun, brings you and your loved ones together for the best night of your lives!”

Here’s a description:

At the Blacklight Slide, you get the chance to go down slides filled with Neon Glow-in-the-Dark water, assuring you and your friends that you will Get Glowed! Following this insanely fun event is an after party with the best music from the top DJs in the country. You’ll get to dance, play, and have the time of your life. When the Blacklight Slide is over and you’re glowing with excitement, we know for a fact that you’ll be counting down the days until the next one.

The Blacklight Slide team is touring the country like a rock band, from Atlanta to Austin to San Jose and numerous other cities from March through October. The date for the Baltimore event is Saturday, July 8, starting at 6:30 p.m. It’ll take place at the race course at 5201 Park Heights Avenue.

The rules for participants are: Wear a white shirt or comfortable swimsuit top, or just a swimsuit; grab an inner tube up to 36 inches in diameter for the best sliding (“Special Edition Blacklight Slide” inner tubes will be available for purchase); and go down the Blacklight Slide and prepare to be covered in “neon glowing water.”

When the event is over, promoters say, participants will be covered head to toe in “Blacklight Slide UV Neon Water,” ready to glow in the blacklights that will be placed throughout the event.

“You won’t find another event like this one,” they say, “but luckily for you, it’s sweeping the nation!”

Each participant will get unlimited trips down the glowing Blacklight Slide, a “Blacklight Slide Glow-in-the-Dark” temporary tattoo, a special edition towel and admission to the “Blacklight Slide Celebration.”

Tickets for the Blacklight Slide usually cost $50 per person but are on sale for $20 through the end of today. More information available here.
