Broadway shows are coming back to Baltimore this fall, with performances starting in late September at the Hippodrome Theatre at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center.
“We’re happy to announce that we have secured dates for seven out of eight shows previously announced to play this season in Baltimore,” Hippodrome representatives said yesterday.
“We are thrilled to share that Dear Evan Hansen will finally make its Baltimore debut this season. Unfortunately, To Kill a Mockingbird could not be rescheduled into the current season but will make its Baltimore premiere in a future season. Additionally, we were able to reschedule Summer: The Donna Summer Musical from last season.”
The Hippodrome at 12 N. Eutaw Street was dormant for much of 2020 due to restrictions on public gatherings to prevent the spread of COVID-19. With theaters and other venues opening up, operators at the Hippodrome this week released their schedule for 2021-2022, which also includes a new version of Hairspray and a return of Hamilton.

Pretty Woman: The Musical: September 28 to October 3, 2021
Tootsie: December 14 to19, 2021
The Prom: January 18 to 23, 2022
Summer: The Donna Summer Musical: February 15 to 20, 2022
Dear Evan Hansen: March 15 to 20, 2022
Ain’t Too Proud: May 3 to 8, 2022
Hairspray: June 14 to 19, 2022
Mean Girls: July 12 to 17, 2022
Hamilton: October 4 to 30, 2022.
