If you’re the kind of person who hates waiting in security lines, you’ll be pleased to hear that BWI will soon be participating in a new service that will allow some travelers to speed through airport lines in under 5 minutes. For a price, of course.
Travelers who sign up with CLEAR pay $179 for an annual membership, and agree to have their fingerprints and irises scanned. Then, at the airport, CLEAR members sign in using special kiosks There is no background check; the service is just a way of verifying that you are who you say you are. You still have to go through the regular TSA screening, however.
BWI will be the 11th airport in the country to adopt the new technology.
