Charm City Yoga is under new ownership. California-based YogaWorks acquired the local chain of seven yoga studios for an undisclosed sum as part of what appears to be an East Coast strategy.
YogaWorks pointed to Baltimore’s place as yoga stretches into more daily lifestyles nationwide, including a Forbes ranking of the city as the sixth fastest growing yoga market. Last year, Charm City Yoga opened a giant new spot in Federal Hill.
YogaWorks also has locations in New York and Boston, and also plans to open in D.C.
The acquisition means a new chapter for Kim Manfredi and Chris Blades, who founded Charm City Yoga in 2000. Manfredi will remain a yoga teacher and trainer post-deal. YogaWorks said the current teachers and staff would also be retained.
