Cirque du Soleil is bringing its first country-themed show to Baltimore, and tickets are available now to Cirque Club members.

Cirque du Soleil and Universal Music Group Nashville will present โ€œSongblazers,โ€ a country-themed show written and directed by Amy Tinkham, paying tribute to both the legendary and modern trailblazers of country music. This will be the 17th time Cirque visits Charm City.

The storyline charts the journey of two main characters forging their individual paths to country music recognition. โ€œSongblazersโ€ is set to premiere in Nashville in July 2024.

Cirque du Soleil collaborated with Sam Williams to create an original song for the show. Williams is a contemporary country artist and grandson of country music pioneer Hank Williams, and son of Hank Williams, Jr. โ€œFusing gut-wrenching honesty and plainspoken poetics with raw vulnerability and deep empathy, CARNIVAL HEART, is inspired by a personal yearning of self-discovery, friendship, and hope,โ€ reads the press release.

โ€œThe title idea came to me pretty easily after becoming acquainted with Cirque du Soleil,โ€ Williams said. โ€œWhere I come from, most people donโ€™t get to go to the circus. We go to county fairs and carnivals, and the carnival in a small town is filled with joy, excitement, mystery, euphoria, you name it. That feeling is one you always remember, and I think the roller coaster of emotions lines up with what you want to feel seeing such an incredibly beautiful production such as Cirqueโ€™s.โ€
