Join Friends School of Baltimore and the Enoch Pratt Free Library for Writers LIVE, an evening with Kwame Alexander, on Monday, March 6, at 6 pm, in the Friends School Auditorium (# 3A on the campus map).
The event is free and open to the public. The Newbery Medalist will share his rules of life in conversation with the Pratt Library’s Deborah Taylor. The rules, contained in Kwame’s latest work, “The Playbook – 52 Rules to Aim, Shoot, and Score in This Game Called Life,” Mr. Alexander aims to provide inspiration for kids, to help them succeed on and off the court. Each rule contains wisdom from inspiring athletes and role models such as Nelson Mandela, Serena Williams, LeBron James, Carl Lloyd, Steph Curry and Michelle Obama. Alexander also provides his own words of inspiration and uplift, as he shares his stories of overcoming obstacles and winning games. The books is illustrated with photographs by Thai Neave, a former ESPN Sports Center anchor. Copies of Kwame’s books will be available for purchase and signing by the author immediately after the program.
