While there’s no shortage of people in town willing to huddle around the bar to play some video games, plenty of folks equally enjoy a rousing game of Monopoly, Apples to Apples or some other physical game.
If you’re part of the latter, head to Old Major tonight for open gaming, organized by the South Baltimore Boardgaming community. Other classics on the board game table will include Trivial Pursuit, Connect Four and Joking Hazard, to name a few.
Old Major is still relatively new to Pigtown, having rolled out just in time for Opening Day in March. The Sun reported owner Candice Bruno bought the space in November, when it was still the classic dive bar hangout Cockeyed Cow. She spruced the place up, installed some beer taps to serve a variety of local brews, renamed it after a revolutionary pig and added a gaming room with shuffleboard, Skeeball, foosball and darts—all staples of a solid adult playground.
Beyond games, the event promises food and drink specials, including shot-and-beer combos to get you primed for some carefully strategized play.
