While you weren’t looking, a new coffee shop was born in March on W. Preston Street in Mount Vernon. Tooth N’ Nail isn’t of the sleek, modern variety, opting instead for a laid-back ’90s vibe and, per a description on its Facebook page, an aim of “hearkening back to the old days when they were community spaces for artists, students and local people to gather.”
Tonight, the coffee shop is throwing a party with live music from Northern Virginia’s Lake Anna, Baltimore country artist Slow Groan, electronic fusion outfit The Holographic Sticker Club and singer-songwriter Mark Lousy. The event is BYOB, though Three Goats, conveniently housed just downstairs, will be serving its delicious tacos. There will be coffee as well.
Starts at 8 p.m. 7 W. Preston St., (443) 986-2096, facebook.com/Tooth-N-Nail-Café, free, but donation suggested.
